Voice

I teach all of my voice students a  fundamental “bel canto” (beautiful singing) technique. This fundamental technique allows you to use your voice to its fullest potential. The deep breathing and relaxation involved help prevent strain and vocal injury, while allowing you to produce a beautiful and controlled tone. This basic technique can be applied in a variety of singing styles. I evaluate each student’s individual situation and goals and we proceed from there.

I also believe that good singers should be good musicians, so I try to educate my voice students on the elements of theory that will help them to succeed in their musical goals.

I am a performer in opera, oratorio, and musical theatre, and have experienced first-hand auditions for musicals, solos, All-State Choir, Solo & Ensemble, etc. so I can help my students prepare for any and all of these opportunities. It is a great joy for me to see my students grow as singers and as musicians!
